Body:
It can be hard to find the right birthday present for a friend or relative, especially if they are very fussy or unsure of what they want for their birthday. And unfortunately, it seems like lots of us have a family members and friends that are extremely difficult to buy for. But while finding that right present can be hard, don't see it as impossible, try to make it fun, and view it as a challenge.
One of the easiest things to do when trying to find a present, is ask the birthday boy or girl just what it is that they want, as long as it's in reason. You may find that they have a few ideas already, or they might have something really useful like an Amazon Wish List that you can view, and then you can buy what you want from that without worrying that someone else will buy the same thing.
Another option is to team up with your friends or family and get this person a present from all of you. This can be very easy to organise, just ask people to give you a certain amount of money, how much it is depends on you, but it can be anything from £5-£50. Once you've all donated the money, you can start looking at what presents to buy them, and because there will be a group of you deciding, it won't take as long to find a gift as it would have if it was just you on your own.
Alternatively, you can offer to take them shopping, take them to the type of shops they like, from music shops, to clothes chops, to second hand book shops, accompanying them to their favourite places will enable you to see just what it is that they would like. If they're buying clothes, you can always be on hand to give your opinion on any clothes they pick out, and crucially the ones that they try on. While this may seem a little dull, it will probably help out your loved one to no extent, and it will give you some inspiration for the next present you will buy them, be it for Christmas, or their birthday next year.
If you really don't know what to get them, and they don't have any idea of what they want, then see if there's something practical that you can get them, such as something for their home, kitchen utensils, photo frames, a teapot, a microwave, just see if there's anything that they really need or if they have an item that needs to be replaced. One thing that people often overlook is food, which can be a truly wonderful gift to receive, especially if it contains some of the birthday boy or girl's favourite sweets, treats and other simply delicious creations. You can buy lots of little treats, or you can look into getting a birthday hamper, which you could fill with their favourite food or drink. A hamper doesn't have to be big either, because
birthday hampers can be any size – it really depends on the food and drink that you include inside it.
